A dozen hearty souls subjected themselves to the annual FRWSD Prediction Run/Walk New Year’s Day morning. Participants predicted how long it would to run or walk either 2.83 miles or 4.19 miles, turned in their timepieces, and completed their route while Debbie Chaddock and Ed Karas timed them.
The winner was Jerry Hicks, who predicted 48:09 for the 2.83 mile route and finished a teensy 5 seconds faster. Thirty seconds behind in accuracy was Ken Rlley, who finished the same route only 35 seconds slower than his predicted time of 45 minutes. Our third most accurate predictor was Doug Book, who blazed through the same route in a mere 23:39, just 39 seconds slower than his predicted time.
Our booby prize winner, Alan Kwok, completed the same course a whopping 18 minutes slower than his predicted time of 29:14. Nothing like a little optimism to start the new year!
Thanks to all the other runners who participated: Ken Pahkim, Dan Kaufman, Steven Nico, Karen Kaufman, Jason, Chuck Van Beveren, Brady, and Lisa . Happy New Year, everyone!
