Mark Barnard is a relatively newcomer to the group and is a consistent runner at almost every meet up. We’re happy he joined the group. Pictured here with his partner, Dylan.
Tell us a little about yourself: Born and raised in Salt Lake City, recently landed in San Diego after 6 years in Tucson, Arizona. I work for the City of Chula Vista and am an avid lover of hiking and any outdoor activities.
Have you always been a runner? I ran cross country in high school and have run somewhat consistently ever since. My favorite place to run/walk is Lake Murray in La Mesa.
What’s to love about FRWSD? My favorite thing about FRWSD is the social aspect. You can meet lots of great people while having other runners to keep you motivated and excited to push yourself.
What’s ahead for Mark? I have run several road races in the last 10 years or so, but I’m excited to run my first half with the SD rock n roll.
Something we don’t know (yet)! I am a huge nerd for wildlife and reptiles. I like to travel to photograph interesting lizard species.
