A newly minted club member, Jerel, a Boston transplant via LA, arrived in San Diego in September.
In 2013, Jerel ran the Boston marathon. When he was half a mile from the finish tragedy struck, and the race was stopped. Having his phone, Jerel called his partner, who was waiting at the finish with their four-year-old daughter, and learned what was happening. Later race officials determined that everyone on the course past the halfway point would receive entry to the 2014 race, so Jerel completed the course a year later.
Married to Michael in Boston before coming here, the family is settling into America’s Finest City. Jerel runs three or four times weekly and looks forward to running full and half marathons and shorter distance races in San Diego.
“Front Runners & Walkers are welcoming and friendly. I look forward to running and club social events.
