To Our Pride Run Community
The COVID-19 pandemic has reached our community, creating much uncertainty around whether our annual celebration of LGBT Pride, running, and walking will be able to occur. As of now, we are still working towards hosting a fun and safe event with the hope that the virus will be well under control by our race date in July. We are in close communication with our partners at the San Diego Pride Organization and will continue to follow any guidance we receive from local and national health authorities. Our primary concern is for the health and safety of our participants and our volunteers; any decisions we make about the occurrence of our annual Pride 5K will be grounded with that guiding principle. We will continue to update our website (https://www.frwsd.org/pride5k/) and social media sites as additional information becomes available.
We encourage all members of our community to follow the social distancing guidelines from our health authorities and do your part to protect the most vulnerable members of our community. We would also like to make you aware that the San Diego Pride organization has created a resource page for members of the LGBT community during this public health emergency: https://sdpride.org/covid19resources/.
It is our sincere hope that we will see you on the starting line of the 2020 San Diego Pride 5K. In the meantime, we wish you good health. Pride Run Committee Front Runners and Walkers of San Diego
