Tom Murray and Erik Lee have been commuting since they joined SDFR&W in August—Monday-Friday it’s live/work in San Francisco, come Friday afternoon it’s fly to San Diego for the weekend. Tom, an attorney, is in high tech, and Erik is a psychiatric nurse.
Liking the San Diego lifestyle, they decided to try the Friday PM commute and return to San Francisco Monday AM. So far, so good!
Both marathoners, Tom and Erik have at least eight marathons to their credit along with numerous half-marathons. Together or solo (they married in 2017), they’ve run in world-class cities, including Dublin, Ireland, Tokyo, Japan and Vancouver, Canada. And in the United States: Chicago, Oakland, San Francisco, and the California International Sacramento. A top memory: the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. And yes, Tom and Erik are “thinking about” the Gay Games in Paris in 2018.
