2015 Pride 5K Run and Walk



The Youth Housing project provides 23 units of affordable, supportive housing for youth between 18-24 years of age, with a special focus on LGBTQ+ youth. These high-risk youth were living in the streets or in public spaces after having been ejected from their homes because of their sexual orientation.

Start Time/Location

  • Saturday, July 18, 2015, 9:30 A.M.
  • Race start and finish: University Avenue at Centre Street.
  • Warm up and Stretch begins at 9:00 A.M.

Race Day Gear Check

You may check your gear on race morning at the Gear Check area. Don’t pack valuables and keep in mind the race organizers are not responsible for lost or stolen items.


For the safety of runners, baby joggers are allowed, but will be asked to start behind all runners.

Bicycles, inline skates, motorized scooters, skateboards, are not allowed.

Pets are not allowed unless it's a service animal.



  • 5K: First three in each age division, male/female.

Race Shirts

Every  participant will receive a high-quality, technical fabric shirt. Shirts can be picked up at Bib Pick-Up day.

Course Support

  • Restrooms: Portable restrooms are available at Registration staging area.
  • Water will be served at the start, the finish and at one location on the course.

After you cross the finish line, treat yourself to some delicious goodies.



State of the art ChronoTrack systems will be used to record your true time from the start line to finish line. The ChronoTrack system uses a UHF RFID disposable tag that allows you to walk away after the finish without having your tag collected.

Time Limit

The 5K has a time limit of 1hour  (average pace of 19:00 minutes per mile). If you are not able to complete the race as planned, you can complete the course on sidewalks as a pedestrian.

If you’re unable to attend the Pride Run packet pickup and need to pick up your bib number on race day, your bib number will be available for pickup from the start on race day between 7:30 and 9:15 a.m. Registration will also be available.

Race Day Parking and Shuttles

Race day parking is available throughout the neighboring streets however, it will be BUSY! Be sure to give yourself an extra thirty to forty-five minutes travel time before the race. We also strongly suggest you carpool, bike or walk if possible.

FREE PARKING LOTS ON SATURDAY at the Old Naval Hospital at Park Blvd. & Presidents Way and San Diego City College.

8:00 AM to 1:00 PM - Pride Parade Route from FREE Parking Lots to Pride Parade Start. The shuttle drops off next to RACE STAGING AREA.
